( More than 74,000 people checked in to TractorByNet.com last month )

I didn't realize there were 74,000 members. Are you sure there were 74,000 unique hits? I would be more apt to believe that several hundred members visited the site many times each.

74,000 unique (I'm one unique)
190,000 visits (I visited, say, 200 times)
Average visit was 16+ minutes (Some 2 seconds, some 2 hours)

Only about 3-5% of the people who visit the site are registered members.

I CAN beleive that, am sure there are a lot of people that vist the site and are not registered. i usually, check in one or twice every day, unless i am gone away.

I occasionally hit the who's on-line button and am amazed at all the anonymous observers here at any one time. If there was just some way to get them all to join the ranks......... Well that would be another story.

Tell them there is going to be a membership drive, and all new members get 50% off??

New members that convince another new member to join, get the other 50% off!!

(not to be confused with a 50% discount, and an additional 50% discount, which is really only a net 75% discount)

So they could (in theory) join for free!

Of course, the fine print will point out that this offer is only good for a limited time as deemed by the local "powers that be" /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Sometimes it surprises me how many unregistered visitors there are on TBN, and I always wonder how many of them are registered members that have not logged in while taking a look at the new posts. I visit TBN four or five times a day but usually only log in once every day or two.

If all the unregistered observers DID decide to join the ranks, I wonder what the end result would be....? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Maybe I misunderstood, I thought once you logged in to the TBN site the first time your computer was given a cookie. I also though that on your subsequent return visits your computer was again recognized as a result of that cookie so there was no need to log in once again. Am I wrong here? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Mike,

As long as you don't clear your cookies and you click the log me in every time you will automaticallly log in. But I do clear me cookies out every so often so I have to log in the next time. And you don't have to log in to view the posts, only to reply to them or start them.

murph

oh and by the way, according to my wife I am one of the ones that is on for two to four hours at a time then off for only a few minutes and then back on again.

Sure hope Muhammad doesn't track my log in time.......I'd be fired from my job /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Sometimes I'm not always active, I DO get interrupted by the phone.
I usually log in at about 7:00AM EST and log off at lunch time. Log back in after lunch and log off at 4:30PM. Then log in at about 6:30 every week night......until........who knows.
Would one say I may be obessed? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
