Just a quick note i was wear surfacing the teeth on my thumb project,it was the first time using these rods. When you get done welding, and flip up your helmet ,there seems to still be a little snap crackle pop going on,with that weld,a little piece flew up in my eye, when i was inspecting my job.It might of had something to do with the 10 degree air temp, and rapid cooling,i dont know, ive never had this happen before.Im ok,just thought this safety thing ought to be mentioned...let it cool before you take a peak, yes and i know /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif wear safety glasses !!!

Lucky you this time. You do not want to burn your eyeball. Yes, welding in cold weather will produce that snap crackle pop sound during cooling and the slag will fly.
