Weak FEL hydraulics?

Hello all, kinda new to new tractors. I have a brand new l 3940 kubota.

My question is , how strong should the FEL hydraulics be?

The older equipment I am used to, the hydraulics is stronger then the machine. IE with the loader we use to move cars around the junk yard, if I put the forks under the school bus full of engine blocks, it will lift the rear tires off the ground, but the hydraulics will not stop.

On this 3940, I hooked the root of a sappling, and the fel just stopped. Like it wouldnt even try.

some folks said i should fill the rear tires, but at this point i see no reason

Your FEL control valve has an adjustable pressure release valve which is probably set too low in the nominal interest of safety. This has been the topic of past threads here, and a number of links should appear on the bottom of this page. If not, just use the search feature for "weak hydraulics", and several will tell you how to check the pressure setting and change it if you feel like trying to do it yourself. Otherwise, bring it back to your dealer and have them adjust it.

Just what kind of older equipment are you talking about. I would like to see the tractor that can left a school bus full of engine blocks.

I think he meant the tractor would lift its rear tires off the ground and the bus not move.

yes, it will not pick up the bus, put it will lift the rear of the loader off the ground until everything bottoms out/

When I got my L4400 I soon felt as you do. I checked my FEL pressure relief valve and it was low. I adjusted it to specifications and it made a bid difference. My L4400 with loaded rear wheels and a 700# BB on will still try to lift a rear wheel now and again. Here is a link to the process of checking and adjusting the relief valve for the FEL.
