Watering new grass seed

Winter was wet and I had dirt work in progress. Come spring, I had more dirt and gravel that grass.. Raked it all out and compressed it as best I could. Forecast said chances for rain for most of a week, but didn't indicate storms. Scratched the surface, laid seed, covered with grass clippings, added fertilizer, rolled while damp to compress.

First evening of rain was OK. Next day came a gully washer. Grass clippings, grass seed, fertilizer and gravel/dirt mix all headed for the road.
