Hello,
Can anyone help me with removing the water pump on my ford 1910? I just installed new sleeves, pistons, rings, valve job, head is back on but I want to replace the water pump gasket. All bolts are removed, it rotates side to side but will not come off. I have been hitting it with a rubber hammer but it will not separate from the block, help!

Look closer for one more bolt or a lineup dowel that you’ve missed, don’t pry much, most everything on the front is aluminum and I’m sure quite expensive, if even available!

Thank you,
I tried to explain in my post that everything is loose, all bolts are out as I can rotate the pump left and right so no dowels are present either. the gasket is free or it would not rotate/spin left and right. I have tapped on it with a rubber hammer but it will not move even a MM away from the block. The manual just says to pull it off after removing the bolts. WTF? LOL I was wondering if there was some trick to doing this.
Thanks
Greg

If u take a razor blade or thin gasket scraper to the engine block behind the water pump,
you'll find a thin metal "backing plate" that's holding u up..
Good luck.

Thanks , I got it off last night. I will be honest here, I did find one bolt still in place even after looking more than once or twice. This explains why it was able to rotate side to side but not come off. The one bolt was in the right place to allow it to rotate which made me believe there was not a forgotten bolt. After looking at the exploded view over and over there was no reason ( except for an over looked bolt) the pump would not come off I I went in search of the elusive bolt.
Now, anyone know where I can buy a rebuilt or used injector pump?
Thanks
Greg

Glad you found it, seen many a head and pump broke because of one more bolt!
You don’t want to buy someone else’s problem, look two comments up to “the pump guy SC”
And have a chat with him, helped many a person out on our forum

Hello "the pump guy" ,
Any idea where I can find a used or rebuilt injector pump? Or someone that rebuilds them? I have two of the pumps here AI can trade for a good one or one to get rebuilt.
Thanks
Greg

There are injection pump shops all over the country..
if your going to call 1.. tell'm u have a Diesel Kiki 3cyl IN-LINE pump off a Ford 1910
WHAT makes u think u need a pump?? Have u removed it yet?? It has a pretty complicated timing procedure that u must follow..
There are service manuals available & I STRONGLY suggest u get one..
I've walked SEVERAL folks thru getting 1 to pump on this site.. have u searched it..??

Hello PG,
Thanks for the response, I bought the 1910 with the pump off already and a used replacement that was completely taken apart in bags. The seller told me the dealer he takes it to told him the pump was shot but he could not afford to repair it or buy another one so he sold it. I have spent many hours looking for a reasonably priced (one I can afford) rebuilt or used pump with no luck. I do have all the manuals thanks to ebay and I have completely rebuilt the engine including new sleeves which I had to design and build the sleeve puller if anyone needs to borrow. Seems that when I find a place that might have one I just missed it being sold and I was told I am on the list for the next one to come in, no calls. All the pump rebuild shops around here have stopped rebuilding them and send them out, BIG bucks! It sounds like you do rebuilds, What do you charge? Would you be interested in two cores to reduce the price?
