Okay all, thanks for the feedback. When I went to my local JD dealer to get new fuel filters they told me not to put the diesel back in. They said it's not worth taking the chance for $15 worth of fuel.

So I removed the filter/sediment bowl, drained the entire tank out and refilled it with fresh diesel and conditioner that the dealer suggested. Then I put the new filter on and fired it up. It's running fine and doesn't seem the worse for wear!

Thanks for the help. :D

Mr. Funnel will be overwhelmed by more than a tiny bit of water. I have had one for years. It doesn't see much use.

I'm going from memory, so it might not be word for word, but in the instructions or on their site, it is explained that "filling the funnel too full can cause the pressure from the weight of the fuel to force water through the element" or some words to that effect. In other words say the "mans prayer" and read the instructions.

Takes me a long time to type this since surgery. can only use one arm.
