This is nothing new. Back in the mid-60's I was in school working at the student radio station poking in the main console with a screw driver. Got it across a plate supply, 300+ volts if I remember correctly, (for you younger kids this refers to vacuum tubes) and shot a few sparks.

I do a little video game work. With the exception of line current the games use 12 & 5 volts. We always use a 12 volt screw driver when working with these games. Gee, I can't imagine how large that 300 volt screw driver must have been.

This last fall we had a politician during a televised debate between candidates was asked about E85. Ok so we are just on the north side of the big corn belt, we produce a lot of corn and have many E85 plants being built here in Minnesota but this politician when asked about E85 did not know what E85 was!!! Long story short, that candidate did not win.

Yep.. I see and hear stuff like this all the time. Some 'braniac' showing off how much he doesn't know... Used to be i would see it in the line at radio shack while waiting to buy an electronic component.. course'.. now ratschack don't sell anything but cell phones.. so they are almost useless..

I remember being in a radioshack when the people working there actually new the stuff they were selling and could help you. A kid was looking for speakers or an amplifier and was talking to the guy at the counter and the guy at the counter mentioned Ohms and the kid said, no this is for my car! I busted out laughing because even as dumb as I am about electronics I knew what the term Ohms was. Needless to say the guy behind the counter said "Sorry son, I can't help you" and looked over at me and winked. After the kid left, I told the sales guy "I don't think anyone could help that kid."

My wife installed curtains over the glass on our doors many years ago and complained about how hard it was to drive the nails. Doors are STEEL.
