Hello everyone! New member here, but have been researching tractors for about a year now and found a good deal on a 12hr 2018 ck3510 that I couldn't pass. I called the dealer that the original owner purchased the tractor from and asked about the warranty transfer. The guy said that the warranty follows the tractor and that no paper work or name transfer needed to be done. I thought that was strange so here I am. Has anyone done this? I'm assuming some of you have, and if you have what were the steps taken?

Yes, the warranty follows the machine. Does not matter who owns it.

Warranty is based on time and machine hours.

When a tractor is delivered to the first purchaser, the dealer files the paperwork and that becomes the "in service date".
The time is based from that date. With your serial number, any dealer can tell you the in service date.

The machine hours are tracked on the machine hour meter.

You are good to go. Enjoy your tractor!

That is very close. Does the Kankakee River flood as much there as it does over around the IL border?

This passed spring we had a huge flood in the area that was pretty substantial. Besides that there are areas that are known to flood when we get a lot of rain. The river over there widens so much and the banks seem to be not as tall as they are here. The fishing over that way I've heard is awesome.

One time I was going up I-65 and they had it closed at the river. I got off and tried a back way I knew about. It was flooded but the road was not blocked yet. The water was about 4" over the bridge and the current was fairly swift. I was in a heavily loaded 4wd SUV and I just barely made it across.

There was a woman in a car behind me and I guess since I made it she thought she could too. Luckily for her, the side rails on the bridge stopped her car from floating down the river. She had to be rescued by the local fire department.
