Kubota M7040
Hey all,
Putting the crosshairs on a 2007 M7040 with only 150 hours on it. I'm buying from a private party so I am a little concerned about warranty transfer. Current owner claims warranty until 2010. Anything I should do to make sure I am covered?

Whats a fair price? Cab, FEL, CD player, dual remotes.

Thanks,
Doug

I bought a low hour B7800 second hand recently and the dealer who sold it to the first guy told me that they would process warranty claims through the original buyers name (if necessary).

Also, have a Kubota dealer run the serial number for you to make sure there is no money owed on it with Kubota.

Any Kubota dealer can look up and tell you what's left on the Warranty. The dealer can also transfer the Warranty to your name with permission from the original owner.
It's very rare to ever need the Warranty on a Kubota. They almost never break down!

Thanks for all the help on this.

Right at $30k for this tractor? I thought it was a pretty good price. Tractor is just mint.

Hi, need more info to help you on price. It's a 2007 Kubota M7040 with LA1153 FEL and cab, 150 hours, two rear remotes.

Is it 4wd? Does it have the hydraulic shuttle? Any other options?

I've found that most new low hour tractors are priced too high when you figure in the 0% finance rates available from the dealer. Also consider your sales tax situation, are you exempt?

Can't help with the price, sorry. I just found myself in a similar situation though when buying a l3240 and found out a few things. When buying from a private party talk to the dealer that sold the tractor and they'll have no problem telling you what's owed with just a phone call. The warranty will transfer easily.
The thing I was most concerned about was the money owed. The seller said he would pay it off right away after receiving my payment but until the dealer called me to say he had done it, I was a bit nervous. The thought of the seller defaulting and a repo guy showing up at my place and hauling away my paid-for tractor made for a few rough nights.

The tractor is fully loaded and just mint.

M7040HDC, 4WD, LA1153 loader, Cab, CD player, 72" QA bucket (unused), Front Guard, Dual remotes on back + loader controls, hydraulic shuttle (w creep speed option), rear tires are filled and a kubota bale spear :)

OK, the "Build My Kubota" website suggests $45,991 for a new M7040HDC with the options you mentioned. If we assume you can get 20% off list that becomes $38,325. Finance at 0% for 60 months, payment is $638.

The used tractor costs $30k, assume 8% interest for 60 months, payment is $608. So the used tractor is $30 less per month, it also has less warranty remaining and it's got a few hours on it.

The used tractor appears to be a good deal, the assumptions I made may or may not be valid or apply in your situation. Prices vary by region also, don't know where you are located. Good luck, keep us informed, post pictures!
