Kubota BX 2370
Hello all at TBN
I have just received My new Kubota BX 2370. From day one, Snow Blower raise speed was erratic. I found the linkage from the AUX Valve lever to the valve below is bent.
The dealer tells me that they will supply a replacement linkage, but I would be expected to pay for a service call (or transport to and from the dealership). Is this reasonable? I should have discussed the warranty at purchase time.
I had the Tractor for less than 3 weeks, other than this issue, it is an amazing machine. Any advice is greatly appreciated,
Thanks, Peter, blowing snow, north of Barrie, Ontario

If this problem was from Day 1, No you should not pay for a problem that should of been caught on Dealer prep.

And if this argument fell on deaf ears, I would explore the dealers willingness to let me replace the bent rod and let me bring to the dealership for the proper placement.

One or both of my Kubotas came with little decals, stating that transportation to the shop for warranty issues was a matter between the truck driver and myself.

Is this reasonable?

I don't know whether it's "reasonable" but it is normal. I think if you read your warranty, it says that transportation to and from the dealer is not covered. But of course, some dealers do provide that extra service at no charge.

Pretty much what Bird said and in my opinion what sets dealers apart. My dealer will pick up and deliver with no charge or send a technician to do an onsite repair during the warranty and it is an 80 mile round trip.

My dealer came to my house with their service truck and made a repair on the FEL under warranty. They had to come twice because they didn't have the part on the truck, did the work in my garage and didn't charge me anything. I never thought about that when I bought it so I didn't ask what the warranty coverage was. Guess I lucked out. This dealer is in a rural area and sells mostly really big tractors and combines, so maybe they're more setup to travel and do repairs because the equipment is too big to bring in to the shop.

Transportation to/from the dealer is not covered under the Kubota warranty, but some dealers will absorb it themselves. I negotiated for free transportation during the first year of warranty, but never needed it. On the other hand, I've had two on-site service calls for warranty issues, and was never charged for the service call. In your case, I'd have them send me the part and install it myself, or if they're close, bring the bent part in for replacement.

My dealer here in Maine will come to the house and pick up my unit for warranty work. Guess that must be dealer "option".
