warranty coverage?

I just purchased a used cub cadet gt1554. It's about a year old, and only has 28 hours on it. I haven't had any problems yet (actually it's been raining a lot, so I haven't really used it yet). Does anyone know if the warranty is transferable, or if it only applies to the original owner? If it is transferable, what do I have to do to get it in my name?

Also, just to confirm to my wife that I got a good deal, how does this sound:

year old cub gt1554 with ag tires, 28 hours, excellent condition as far as I can tell, 42" snowblower attachment, wheel weights, chains - paid $2800?

From my experience cub cadet warranties are not transferrable.

If it's not transferrable, and the original owner is near you, in case of a catastrophic failure I'd just ask him to have it processed for you.
