I am searching for a couple of Stihl 045/056 Bosch electronic ignitions. Willing to pay for shipping and handling.

The reason I want a couple of these old ignitions is I believe I can make the needed repairs. I have one now with that ignition that is in pieces while I wait for the needed part on order to arrive. If my circuit analysis of this high failure item is correct, I will share that information with whomever can pony up at least one carcass. And NO, I highly doubt the so called coil is at cause for the many failed units we read about. The problem I want to verify is located in the electronic section that is filled with potting material, located between the two magnetic devices.

Don't know why one of those magnetic devices is called a coil; one is an inductor and the other is a high voltage pulse transformer.

OH-- if you have a saw with two of these failed ignitions, only ship one. In return I will help you fix the other one by providing all the info with pictures along with a part needed for making it whole again. And of course, this all presumes my idea is correct.

Thanks--

Foggy
