The would violate the standard of the QH... Adapt implement, do the work once on each implement, be happy forever....

I agree. But to me it looks like the quick hitch is the problem and it's a lot less work to modify one vs several. If the quick hitch is built to the accepted standard then the right way is to modify all the equipment to match the quick hitch.

I have no idea how handy the op is. I myself would have all the implements modified in short order because I have those abilities. I've done some pretty creative modifications too. But like I say I have no idea of the op's abilities, therefore my recommendation is based on what is the easiest and cheapest.

So far as far as I'm concerned the op can do what he wants.

And what if next implement he buys is QH comparable and if he modified the QH and now new implement wont work with modded QH....

I agree, the solution in really up to abilities of OP but in any case, modding either will take effort and skills....

I'm going with modifying the attachment. All my others hook up fine and I don't want to mess with that. This is a pretty old unit so it was likely built before quick hitch standards were even developed. I am investigating a modification of the new KK flex hitch. Have to make some final comparisons but I might be able to make that work with minimal welding. It's a little pricey to buy the flex hitch setup, but the cutter I have has very little use even though it's old. Must have been in a barn somewhere before it went to the estate auction. I am welding challenged, but my next door neighbor is a retired machinist and all around metal miracle worker.:) Thanks for tall the input.

I love my Flex Hitch cutter. I had 1800 pine removed and some stumps may start poking up enough to catch one of the front corners of the rotary cutter. A non-Flex Hitch cutter may have a jarring hop when it hits a stump while the FH allows it to go over stumps MUCH more smoothly.

Just a comment on quick hitching 3 point implements such as rotary cutters;
most of those are designed to have a floating top link attachment so as not to
limit the up and down travel of the tail wheels keeping it from digging in.

To the original poster if your implement is just a bit to narrow,
does it use bolted on lift arm pins?
If so reverse the mounting of one or both pins.

I removed the three point braces and remounted the three point on the inside to get my clearance. Removed the upper link attachment to close up the arms and remounted it with washers for spacers. I then cut the back lift braces so that they would hit the gearbox and not the slipclutch and attached a chain.
The three point pivots now and with the chain gives me the flex I need. Its not pretty but I used what I had on hand one day. Yes I hope to tidy it up a bit and repaint it all in the future.

I ended doing almost the same thing Alan W. did with his. The Flex Hitch conversion was getting expensive so I just started taking things off and trying stuff. Mine is a 6ft so things lined up a little differently. i was able to use the back braces without cutting. The top link spacing was the only thing. I used some bushings to get the right spacing then added a top like adapter yoke. Thanks for all the input. Still need to get the bushing installed on the top link otherwise it looks good to go. I hadn't thought about the floating top link until it was mentioned so once I can get out of the mud I'll give it a try. 20190506_202300.jpg

It would be quite expensive to convert a rigid mount to a true "Flex Hitch" as you would have to change the lower attachment to the deck. The FH allows the deck to float on two link arms between the 3pt frame and the deck.

That's what I found. About $250-$275 just to buy the flex hitch parts. Plus what it would cost to have the new brackets welded on. Since i am welding challenged, I would have to pay someone to do it.

I hooked up to it fine with the adjustments I made, hope to do a little work this afternoon.
