I have an older 6 foot KK rotary cutter. I would like to make it quick hitch compatible. Anyone have any luck with that? The A frame is less than an inch too narrow. I was wondering if the new flex hitch they claim is QH compatible could be made to fit the older style deck?

I converted all my dad's stuff and all my stuff to QH compatible. Just look at some of the new QH compatible stuff and adapt/copy to your equipment.
If I have it pictured right, you can add a couple of straps (similar to an old leaf spring shackle) on the outside of the current upright, then add a bolt and bushing through the front of the straps to give you a place for the QH upper hook.
You may already know but there are two different upper hooks. One has a little more rear reach and is much easier to use.

A inch should be simple to compensate for.... If it were maybe 4-6 inches it could be a real head scratcher....
If I read your "inch" statement correctly you only need 1/2 inch on each side?......Longer pins or spacers behind pins?....

Makes you want to execute whoever the dumbcrap was who designed it or approved it! Had the same problem with most of my implements. The ones closest to the QH standard were the hardest!

I modified all of my three point hitch implements to fit my quick hitch. Both ways actually. I don't need to move my upper hook for anything as all implements have the same dimensions.
What I would probably do with your rotary cutter is move the sides of the A frame in enough to be compatible with your quick hitch. I'd need to see pictures before I would venture to speculate on how to accomplish that. Once it's done though....

I checked my rotary cutter, rear blade, tiller, and snow blower for the width of the 3pt pins. They were all the same at 27" at the narrowest point.

Problem is there were millions of implements made to old standard the was pretty loose with adjustable draw-bar arms so anything close was ok... Quick hitch standards are quite exact and a lot of manufactures have not caught on to making their equipment to the QH standard.... Its sort of a crap shoot, a few manufactures do advertise QH comparable implementable but don't see a lot of them...

Well then I guess you would be better off to make your quick hitch a little wider on each side then. It's a pain but I don't see any other way of doing it.

The would violate the standard of the QH... Adapt implement, do the work once on each implement, be happy forever....
