I like the golden rule concept--very good advice.
Years on kubotas---nah--first they are built in Japan except for about 75 Percent of the BX population and some loaders etc and then they are container shipped to several ports and then they are trucked to several more distribution centers where they sit till a dealer floor plans them (buys them on credit). It could be entirely possible that my 2410 bought in December of 2001 could be a newer tractor than the one sitting on the Kubota dealer lot in say Rosebud Georgia or Anyplace Iowa as we speak--right now. While improvements are incorporated--the Japanese have a word for it that I forget but it is similar to the US version--CANI--Constant and Never Ending Improvement--or what it says in the manual--Kubota reserves the right to change the design or specs as they see fit at any time. The 2410 series came into being in the Spring of 1999 I think it was replaces the 2400, for example, and my paperwork says nothing about a year model--just a date of purchase. I imagine the serial number would have that info or you would be able to trace that info by serial number. Unless you can call the Kubota factory in Japan and special order a Kubota 7500 and have it air dropped to your property it is unlikely you will get one that has not sat somewhere at sometime, someplace.
OK, tell him you don't want that one you want a brand new one and he will likely call another dealer and get you the one that sat on his lot for 3 mos or maybe call the warehouse and get one that may have sat there for 6 mos or longer. OK, ask for him to order you one from the warehouse though it is entirely possible that the one you get from the warehouse is physically older than the one sitting on his lot.
Heck, my neighbor sits his out in the rain--for two years now--of course mine live in a garage and get washed and waxed and detailed like my motorcyle did when I was a teen. My BX looks newer than the 2410 and it is 2 years old but give me some warm weather and my 2410 will look newer than the one they are painting right now in Kubotaland, Japan. Will the new Kubota please --ahh--raise your loader.
