I like the golden rule concept--very good advice.
Years on kubotas---nah--first they are built in Japan except for about 75 Percent of the BX population and some loaders etc and then they are container shipped to several ports and then they are trucked to several more distribution centers where they sit till a dealer floor plans them (buys them on credit). It could be entirely possible that my 2410 bought in December of 2001 could be a newer tractor than the one sitting on the Kubota dealer lot in say Rosebud Georgia or Anyplace Iowa as we speak--right now. While improvements are incorporated--the Japanese have a word for it that I forget but it is similar to the US version--CANI--Constant and Never Ending Improvement--or what it says in the manual--Kubota reserves the right to change the design or specs as they see fit at any time. The 2410 series came into being in the Spring of 1999 I think it was replaces the 2400, for example, and my paperwork says nothing about a year model--just a date of purchase. I imagine the serial number would have that info or you would be able to trace that info by serial number. Unless you can call the Kubota factory in Japan and special order a Kubota 7500 and have it air dropped to your property it is unlikely you will get one that has not sat somewhere at sometime, someplace.
OK, tell him you don't want that one you want a brand new one and he will likely call another dealer and get you the one that sat on his lot for 3 mos or maybe call the warehouse and get one that may have sat there for 6 mos or longer. OK, ask for him to order you one from the warehouse though it is entirely possible that the one you get from the warehouse is physically older than the one sitting on his lot.
Heck, my neighbor sits his out in the rain--for two years now--of course mine live in a garage and get washed and waxed and detailed like my motorcyle did when I was a teen. My BX looks newer than the 2410 and it is 2 years old but give me some warm weather and my 2410 will look newer than the one they are painting right now in Kubotaland, Japan. Will the new Kubota please --ahh--raise your loader.

Very good questions and answers. I just drove by the dealer that is setting up my B7500. Naturally, dealers will want to rotate stock on a first-in, first-out basis. The B7500 is sitting outside, which makes me cringe a bit because I am very **** when it comes to keeping things looking good. I noticed that the yellow coloring on the PTO lever top is faded, and the tractor could use a good wash and wax. Before I take delivery, I told the dealer that I would spend a few hours in their shop going over the tractor with them. I want them to show me how to take the loader and mower off, and other miscellaneous items. Also, I want to make sure that everything is looking good as well. I will request that they wash and detail it before dropping it off in my yard. I took a peak at the loader that they just installed, and I noticed one bolt that is not quite screwed in all the way. It looks like they had a hard time getting it tight. This will be addressed also. It looks like we are in the same boat here, but I am going to make them clean everything up and have it looking good before I give them the balance due!

Kubota requires that dealers use a check list form for servicing a tractor out and a copy is supplied to the customer for you to go over, one of the points he is supposed to address is physical appearence. While I doubt he will or even could detail it out like I could or you could the tractor should be clean and fueled and ready for work.

That is good to know-- I am going to ask him for it. Yes, I agree he probably won't wax it, but I would hope he washes it and makes it look sharp. My brother is going to store it right next to his John Deere in his shed, and I'd like to show it off a little!

Tex! Good luck. The dealer said it will be next week before I can have it deliver'd. Was hoping to get it before Easter....but no Biggee. I got a Kubota hat today! And yes, i too will be looking (with microscope) before I give them the green light to drive away. I will also need instruction for removing the FEL, etc. Did you get turf or the "bar" turf tire. I was really struggling with that. But since we got 5 inches of snow today, I asked them to give me the "bar" turf tires. Lets see, is there anything else we need to go over before they drop 'em off. If you think of other items to check let me. I want your advice too.

TEX AND WINGER: when your tractors are deliverd be sure u go over them as best you can, u will be excited so u won't think of everything at that time. but rember that they are subject to being deliverd in fine shape by KUBOTA.if after it is delivered go over it for the next few days, anything major call dealer. but i do think the waxing should be your pleasure.

Winger,
I struggled with the tire issue myself. I went with the turf tires only because I will be seeding a new lawn this spring. I had the same concern as you regarding the snow issue though-- I ordered a set of rear 2-link style ladder chains with the tractor to put on in the winter. I picked up the LA302 loader manual from my salesman yesterday-- just so I could read it before getting the tractor. Make sure you get a manual with every loader, mower, etc. As TresCrow has stated, they are invaluable and seem to explain most things. I looked at the loader manual and made notes to check when I go over the tractor (e.g. teflon tape on the hydraulic hookup at the transmission outlet, check the transmission fluid level after the loader has been hooked up and the air bled out). As everybody has stated, a good dealer should have everything ready to go, but I just want to make sure I understand it as well.
On a related note-- what did you decide to do as far as a snowblower?
