Quite the toy. Yes it needs 6 legs. If there were only 4 it would tip each time a corner leg was picked. wonder how it does in turns as everything on the ground would be skidding. I would think in the woods you would want something that had a higher step. I can see it getting caught up in brush.

With sufficient synthetic intelligence it could be made to walk on 4 legs.
"Sufficient" being about the level of a quadraped with weight shifting ability and WITHOUT fear of snakes, etc.

Hey, I've taken my tractor for a walk!

LOL

Often when I sand my icy drive I engage lowest gearing ratios and low rpm's I let the tractor creap ahead while I walk alongside and shovel/spread sand on my drive.

It is so slow that I can reach in for minor steering corrections all while flinging sand on the drive. (now if I had a remote and joy stick control, hmmm...)
Mind you only on the long flat areas.
On hills I park and slip (walk) to sand with brakes locked.

But, not today as it is -35c.
