Waiting for new JD 2720 to arrive

Hi everyone,

After 3 months of reading TBN, planning and learning, I finally bought a JD2720 with fel-53" bucket, 46 backhoe and 54"front blade. I'm waiting on the hoe, so my tractor sits 28 miles away in the dealers lot. Dealer says at the latest mid July. Is it mid July yet? Time is dragging. Oh well, guess I'll try not to think about it to much.

In as much as you're waiting call the dealer and tell them you want the 62-inch bucket for the FEL not the 53-inch. Had to wait on my hoe also. Congratulation!

Tell the Dealer you want the 62 inch bucket not the 53.
53 is small for that tractor.

X3 for me on the bigger loader bucket. The 2520 handles the 61 fine, so I know there would be no problem with the 2720. I thank myself (and Chris2520) every time I use my machine with the bigger bucket, particularly during a big gravel-moving project I had this spring.

Congrats on the new machine! Just test drove a 2520 FEL/BH today and will probably be placing the order within a week. Can't wait to see your pics!

Not to hyjack the thread, but the unit I was quoted had the 49" bucket. How much is it ususally to upgrade buckets?

According to the JD web site a 53" bucket is $29 more than the 49" and a 61" is $58 more than the 49". I followed the advice of the guys on this site and called my dealer and left a message to put a 61" bucket on. I think they would say the same for you on the 2520. Hope you get and enjoy your tractor.
