Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source. At the university level, no Wikipedia quotes or sourcing are permitted. The reason is simple. Anyone can post on it. Quoting from Wikipedia and proclaiming "there, that is the fact" is, in fact, without credibility whatsoever. Even high school student know that. Shame.
Well Fred, while a previous poster DID quote Wikipedia, the definition on Wikipedia is esentially correct as compared to the Engine Oil Bible and thousands of other sources of information about multi vis motor oil for the last 50 years.
No one said that everything on Wikipedia is correct or that because it is on Wikipedia it IS correct. I didn't notice that you brought any links to this thread to refute or confirm what Wikipedia said.
