Vintage JD 2-14 3pt plow

Picked this one up yesterday ($200)

Lettering calls it a "12 14" plow. It's definitely a 2-14 setup and it's heavy. Needs new points but there are part numbers on the pieces so it should be relatively easy to cross reference.

Near as I can tell it was used on JD's 40 and 400 series tractors from the 1950s..

Now I'll be able to check out the draft control on my new Mahindra 5525.

Nice plow for the $$. You done good. Those JD plows supposedly pull a tad hard vs a Dearborn or an IH, but your 5525 won't even know its back there...You got weights/filled tires??/BobG in VA

No weights. Need to check into that.

Need to fill the rear tires.

The 5525 is 2WD so I'll disconnect the FEL when I use the plow to transfer more weight to the rear wheels.

Not 100% positive, but looks that part of a model 415. Decent plow, they just don't like heavy sod or lots of surface crop residue. Uses older "HSS" style bottoms/wear parts.

Looks that way to me too. I found a manual for it on the Web. Plan to try it out on the Mahindra 5525 soon.
