Greetings friends,

I had great success selling my Wheel Horse here, so I told a friend at work I will see what I can do about selling her old Ford. These were owned and operated by her late husband and she has no use for them. I would like to get her a FAIR price, so please help me with what she could/ should expect to get for it.

I have pics of the tractor, including implements. I am also providing a picture of the serial number (?), so you experts will be able to help with the year.

Around here, the N series Fords bring between $1200 and $2200, depending entirely upon their condition/appearance/curb appeal.

You'd have to judge the curb appeal of that unit, as your eyes are on it. Best regards.

PS- Attachments are at times better sold independently.

Same here. Maybe a little lower? Ken Sweet

ditto that. a good running N won't even break 2000$ here. even with 2-3 implements.

PS.. to the OP.. the sn is lightly hand stamped on the left side of the engine block, below the head, and to the right of the oil filter on a 1x4" flattened boss. 8n engines start with 8n.. 9n/2n engines start with 9n. and yes.. any of the 3 engines fit the same bellhousing.. so it's not uncommon to see a 9n engine on an 8n.. or the other way around.. same with the industrial engines ford put in gensets and water pumps..

if it runs good and has some implements.. I'd ask 1800 and take 1500$.. around here anyway.. that's more than fair prices.

i see N's alone that run that sometime go for 700-1000$

You didn't say if it runs. $500 to $700 for a non runner. There was one in your area 2 weeks ago for $800. $50 more if you wanted the brush hog. It ran. It didn't last long. Was gone in less then 2 days.

The tractor is an 8n late 1950/'51/'52
PTO and rear axle are leaking. Most of the tin is in good shape expect the fenders. Rear turf tires are a minus because most guys want ag tires unless use for finish mowing. The radius arms are bent probably a result of the home made snowplow system. This has more then likely worn the axle pin and bushing if not egg shaped the hole in which the axle should be replaced.
I have seen similar tractor go for around $1000/$1400. Sighly higher if you add an implement or two.
Good luck with the sale.
