Does anyone know where to buy a rebuilt 1960's briggs 5-8hp engine. I have a speedex tractor and would like to have a nice reconditioned motor for my restoration project.

Getting a vintage engine may be a problem. You can find new re-power options in a number of places on the 'net.
Here is just one option... Small Engine - Replacement Engines - Engine Kit - Repower
If you want to stay vintage there's always e-bay or craig's list. The other option is to recondition the motor you have.

1. Go to an antique tractor show and mention what you are looking for to a few folks.
2. Put an engine wanted ad on craigslist.com. It's free.
3. Do a want it now, or whatever they call it on ebay.
4. Go to a small engine shop that has been around for a long time. Chances are they have more than a few old B&S rotting away. They could probably even get one running for you.
