Viewing pictures

I can see thumbnail attachments but not other pictures in a post. What's wrong?

I presume you can see the picture avatars too, right?
Are you sure there are other photos on the posts/threads?
Sometimes (for my slow connection) it takes a long time to down a big photo.

Yes, I can see the avatars and thumbnail attachments but some posts include pictures some other way that I can't see. Thanks.

Edit: For example, on the Build it Yourself forum there is a thread titled "and another trailer build". I can't see those pictures. What gives?

Just as an example at work they block photo bucket and YOUTUBE so the threads reads OK and captions are there (its great for imagining what should be there)
If I see something I want to follow up on I subscribe to the thread and check it out at home.
