US Embassies and Consulates... Quote... Have emergency funds sent by your family, friends or employer... I only have point of contact numbers for Asia Embassies. Did you contact the Aerican side? My experience is with the Manila Embassy a few times and they helped a lot... Philippine side is still a third world country... US side is like the US... Night and Day operations. Maybe Eddie can join in, he was a US Embassy Marine for a few years. Don't know what really happened, but I met a retired Army guy last year who got married in the Philippines about ten years ago (from NC) and he is still stuck in the Philippines because he did'nt go thru the right procedures... He is mrissable (stupid). I was married in the Philippines after about three months of paperwork... Yep, wife had to cook a thanksgiving turkey, make mashed taters and gravy (brides school) and balance a checkbook... YEP... a special request chit and approval from COMUSNPHIL... Makes a HUDGE difference.
