California you say? Go dribble a few drops of oil under the axle. Call it is as a concerned citizen about the environment. It will be towed the same day. :D

^^^ Yes, it's very true and would probably get a hazmat response with multiple responders.

A friend got some asphalt road millings to put down on his driveway and you would have thought he had created a super fund site...

Find out what ball size or pintle. Make up signs for your truck. Trailer disappears
Then be like Sgt. Schultz, " I see nothing".
Wait for some one to ask about it, say it was left on my property. My storage fees are ...
OR just leave it there for a while longer and someone will hit it late at night.
I'll bet if that happens the po-po will know who owns it and where they live and work.

T.J.

It's even easier than that... the hitch is still attached to the ball mount... all I would need to do is line it up with my receiver and good to go...

I had hoped someone in the TBN vast membership might have License Plate data that I could follow up on..

Someone didn't steal the wheels and tires, they just helped the owner out since it was in need of a brake job.

maybee they are coming back to do the brakes and are just getting tires on it now. :)

I can't be the only one to do a brake job in a parking lot am i? :)

In fairness it wasn't my car. got a call from a buddy he was in a publix plaza and the brakes went out on his saturn.. like big bad noises and grinding.

I got there, looekd thru the rim saw the problem, sent him downt he road in my truck with a parts list and i set out to start taking his car apart using his jack and my jack. when he got back it was all ready to slap on the pads , clean, lube and go. he got very lucky that the rivits didn't mar his rotos. i'd say another day of driving and they'd have had to have been machined.

The White Chevy is parked right on the street... can't miss it.

It's funny in that code compliance will come onto private property and tow cars with expired tags or not in roadworthy condition... only exception is for vehicles inside a legally permitted garage.

Nope...

It was real dark out last night.

Very surprised it was untouched as long as it was... probably too much like work!

Congrats on the new trailer. I'm sure "someone" will find it useful.

No... as much as I would love a free trailer... I simply would not be able to sleep at night... plus who needs the negative Karma.

Maybe it's the old saying what goes around comes around.

I didn't notice if the Chevrolet was still around...

The series of events shows just how much a person really is on their own when it comes to criminals... true, I guess city tow could have picked it up in the wee hours of the morning... highly unlikely.

The picture I posted of the my Dozer shows what's left of Mom's woodpile after most of it was stolen... anything that isn't nailed down is fair game... figured she lost close to a cord of oak that we cut and split together.

On the flip side having good neighbors means a lot and thankfully I do... although the average age has to be in their mid 80's...

You know, it's funny; if I do something that I know is wrong it always comes back to bite me in the butt, but when other people do it, they seem immune. Almost like you get doubt penalty for knowing it's wrong and doing it anyways. I try to behave anymore, took a few years to learn the lesson.

My only motive was to contact the registered owner... because I would sure appreciate it if the shoe was on the other foot.

It use to be very simple... now with all the privacy laws and I know a lot about privacy working in a hospital, doing the right thing can be near impossible.

I still remember when I had a car from the Dealership where I was working and was meeting a friend to go to San Francisco and took her car... someone noticed a brand new car dropped off on a city street with the driver getting picked up and called the Dealer... the license frame had the dealer info... amazing how that worked back in the day...

A local radio personality that I listened to a lot was a hospital patient and he mentioned it several times on the air and later did on air advertising for the Surgeon...

One day I happened to mention this and the Boss heard me... I was called into the Directors office so fast I thought we were under attack... she thought I was disclosing confidential information and even when I explained the host had talked about on air many times and did advertising... she still didn't care... except it did show that I was not a loose cannon.
