Does anyone search U-tube? I found this video of one of the sorriest mulchers I have ever seen.

I hope yalls fecon and FAE does a better job than this. At least my Magnum does

Can you believe the guy is cutting with no cab door, no mask, no goggles, etc.
This guy is itchin to take out an eye.
How is he even breathing in all that dust and debris - seriously.

Was refering not only to safety

but to the quality of the final product, the speed at which it cuts, the way the head seems to always be waiting on recovery etc. A lot of this may be the fault of the carrier and or operator but either way it is a bad way to try a unit IMHO

Is it just me or does that head look identical to a tushogg?

With the hydraulic motor driving the drum directly, it's mounted on the end of the head and takes away probably 12 inches of actual cutting width.

I've also noticed that there are alot of YouTube videos for Gehl skidsteers. Why is that? They all seem to be European too.

the unit is a "tushhog" formerly called a landtamer. I ran one for 2.5 years. The units do leave a "mess" of shreds but they are unstoppable. It is absolutely insane, however, to run one without lexan.
I can say this about the tushhog that is branded under several names. You can mill rocks with it and use it as a crusher on oversized rock to make gravel. You can grind hard, old oak stumps with concrete and metal in them. You can grind a car, too, but that's another story. The first pass with one of these mowers looks like h*ll. I got rid of mine because dealer wouldn't support the unit anymore but it is low maintenance, teeth are reasonable (but hard to install), and it is a powerful, simple piece of machinery. You can grind things that nobody else would attempt. I found it's best use for obliterating stumps and large brush piles with stumps and rocks (see pics)
