Vermont and deutz allis 5215 hst

Trouble always trying to find parts and accurate info on troubleshooting this remarkable little Tractor. Vermont is hard on it especially Winter. Anyone out there no anyone in Vermont anywhere that KNOWS how to work on this tractor and can help me out.rolland71258

Welcome to the forum. The AC and DA brands have been defunct for 25 yrs or so and are now supported by Agco, parts for the compacts from these brands can be difficult to find to say the least as the machine builder Hinomoto is also defunct. With that said if you can turn a wrench post your problem in the forum and maybe folks can walk you through.

Hinomoto was a Japanese company that also produced tractors for companies like Allis-Chalmers, Deutz-Allis, and Massey-Ferguson like Yanmar produces tractors for John Deere. They were purchased by Hitachi in 1990 who stopped producing tractors somewhere between 2000 and 2009 from what I understand. A Massey dealer should be able to help you out but that again depends on how they treat small customers. Also Google Hinomoto tractor parts to see what sources you can find online. Look for a Hinomoto C174 as the equivalent but the C-174 comes with either a Toyosha or Yanmar engine. The 5215 uses the Toyosha engine. The 5015 uses the Yanmar engine.

I'm looking at Buying a 89 Deutz Allis 5215 one owner with a 60" belly mower.The tractor is 4x4 and has about 1383 hours on it.Owner has original bill of sale and all original owners manuals that go with it.The owner wants $2500 for it.He says he put a new clutch in it and it looks as if they've changed the front tires to a rough tread ATV tire.My question is how hard is to get parts for this tractor.I know they were made by hinomoto for Deutz Allis and have a 3cyl water cooled diesel In it.The motor is made by Toyosha.Also do these have a 2 stage clutch like most farm tractors due or is it a single stage clutch.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A neighbor of my mothers had a 5215 Deutz for years and years. He has mostly used it to cut the grass at our house, his house and the other neighbors house. He's had very good luck with his. Mostly the problems have been limited to a few bearings and the mower deck rusting out (got a used one). He used to plow the driveway in the winter with a blade too but we haven't had enough snow lately for that problem. His has a 2 stage clutch and the diesel engine has been very reliable. I don't think he's ever replaced the water pump either. Amazing good machine.

Parts are going to be very hard to get for them, and if found very expensive. I have a friend who is an independent repair shop and did a brake job on a Hinomoto unit for a customer. The parts were around 1k and he had to hunt hard for them. I would walk, no run away from the unit. What good is a $2500 tractor if you have to spend 5 times as much on parts and hours searching for them? I am all for finding a deal, however this is not one.
