Vermeer TM 800 vs. TM 850 - what is the difference?

Anybody know the difference between these mower?

My dealer says the 850 has a higher tech chassis and they don't sell many considering the price delta of $3K between the 800 and 850.

I don't know the difference but see a lot of the 800's at auctions. What they bringing new? Good used where around 7 to 8grand. I like to have a trail behind,I hate hooking the 3pts up,probably try to find caddy.

Used cutters can be expensive to repair. I have had good luck with my Krone but I knew who bought it new and how they treated it.

When I bought my Vermeer hay equipment,they didn't recommend me getting the cutter,they got me to go to another brand they sold instead. Been happy with it so far only been two years.

Vermeer TM 800 179" working width & TM 850 190" WW. The TM 800 that my friend owns does not have nitrogen charged hyd system. As I've stated before my Vermeer M7030 has basically the same cutter bar as the TM models and my cutter has been a good one.

Tm 850 working width 190" cutting width 125"

Wider but narrower.

I didn't really look at the spec sheet. I thought "working width" would be "cutting width". For the extra $3K you get nitrogen in cyl's & 120 extra #'s of weight.

I guess working width I the overall width of th machine. One would hope that the working width I equal to the cutting width.
