i have a prince rd 5000 series control valve with a barnes 2 stage 22gpm pump
when i hit 2000 psi it seems to bypass.the splitter cylinder stops and the engine is not bogging even at idle . Im guessing its the relief setting?
instruction that came with valve says nothing about where/how to adjust

Mostly close to P port (inlet), some have a bolt (minus the head) like with screw driver slot and a jam nut.

You will also need a gauge to set the PRV properly.

Reading these pdf files will give you info about the valev in general and even some details about the relief valve adjustment....
Always adjust live under pressure, with a proper gauge (0-3000psi)
Check how pressure react on the screw adjustment, by adjusting "down" first....then up....

Most splitters have a 2 stage pump. Maybe you adjusted the cross over pressure and not the relief? Did you put a gage on it or just screw it down tight?
