Backhoe Value-Leader or WoodMaxx backhoe

I would like to put a 3 PT backhoe on my JD1020. Have read all of the pros and cons on 3 pt and plan to build sub frame as needed. No one seems to make one for the 1020. Has anyone had any recent dealings with Value leader or WoodMaxx?

Welcome to TBN. I bought the WoodMaxx WM-6600 last fall after a fair amount of research. And their price was very competitive. I've never used a backhoe before but I'm happy with it's operation so far on digging out a few small stumps and trenching for electric power to my pole barn. The only issue I had with it was an initial leaking at the PTO gearbox/hydraulic pump unit. But after talking to the service people at WoodMaxx they were quick to send out a replacement unit. My application is on a Kubota B7500 which is a small compact tractor. I did buy the heavy duty top link bracket and support frame kit that Kubota makes and recommends for use with their 3 point backhoe. I had time to change out the top link bracket but not install the support frame kit before winter set in here in Michigan. I was just careful to not stress my tractor. The support frame kit consists of 3 main pieces: a left and right side bracket that runs from the rear axle area to the front of the tractor and a cross member piece that connects the 2 side brackets underneath. One of the major problems with 3 point backhoes is the forces can twist and break the transmission (aluminum in many cases nowadays) and this kit minimizes that issue. Your JD1020 is a bigger tractor and you may not have this issue. Good luck with your search.
