Is that a nitrous bottle on the back? As if it needed more power yet! Nice looking, not sure I'd want to be in the operators seat.

I think you are right on the Nitro, I had the pic sent to me so I did not get that close of look.
I hear you on being in the operators seat. But wait, it looks like it has a MMM. Perhaps with hearing protection mowing an acre or two would'nt be so bad.

Hi Rob,
Looks like nitrous, or compressed air for the operator so he can breath ;) :) In any event I wouldnt want to be in the operators seat either !:)

That is one way to cut down on your mowing time1 :)

Someone did a lot of work there. Looks like they are powering drivetrain from the crankshaft (engine appears to be in backwards, starter in first pic is at front of machine, but rear of engine where bellhousing should be). This means that intake or carb had to be turned around so blower intake would face the front. Oil filter is at front of machine, but back of engine. Did anyone else notice this?

The felow who sent me the pic ( owner of the store not the CC) mentioned that the engine was reversed to get the proper rotation for the hydro. When I marveled at putting that much HP thru a garden tractor transmission he noted the owner has competed numerous times ( > 50 don't quote me) without failure. He also mentioned the owner was buiding a 350 with 307 crank that just might be the straw that breaks the camels back.

That must be the deluxe model, compare to 1450 I use to have.

The caberator is is a square bore, never turned one around but I do not know why it would not work, it is the same bolt pattern front and back and the same cfm for primarys and secondarys

After looking a little closer, thats just an intake horn on top, where it fits on top of carb is probably where they spun around, not the whole carb itself. Somebody has more time and money than I do, that's for sure.

Take an even closer look, the Eldelbrock tag on front of the carb is pointed towards the back of the engine. The throttle pulls toward the front of the engine.

I didn't notice any cooling system. Must be a drag machine.

My dealer noticed this thread and sent me a few more pics to post along with a little more info...

"Just for your notes, the cadet does have over 200 hooks or pulls on it with the current set-up. It is thru the original 1450 Cadet rear end and hydro. The Cadet was bought as a winter rebuild as the engine was bad. Didn't really need another mower and the 5 liter was just sitting there without a home is how it got started. He currently just finished a second one for someone that liked his."

I like the "Floor IT!" painted on the accelerator.

So is the engine turning a hydraulic pump that pushes the juice that turns the hydro tranny? That would be my guess.

That's how it works. It is a stock rearend and hydro.

I hope it has a good scattershield...

Could have used a marine camshaft to reverse rotation of the V8.

Wow, that's a project and a half.

How does it mow across slopes? :D

I'll have to bring that up to them! They currently ahve a couple of them out and they are doing more chassis as they did a 318 deere for a green lover but had to put in a cadet rear to hold it together.

The unit in the pic's has over 400 pulls on and they have another one which is stretching the relability of the cadet system. The new one is a 327 block plus that they feel is over five hundred horse power and they are eating some parts.

The pucker factor is high, but it is his wife that runs it!!!!!!
