Also, consider ordering a trailer in any other color than black. Trailer theft is a huge business and when’s yours gets stolen you can at least tell the cops to look for the blue one among the sea of black trailers.

If they can get past my dogs and my guns, a little paint will not stop them.

Good idea though. I would more likely 'custom' paint my own. Also, engrave information in hidden areas.

I would go with a single axle, with brakes. I have a dual axle car hauler, but it’s quite the beast, and eight teen feet long with a Beavertail. Great for hauling cars and my Kubota BX25, but I rarely use it. Mostly use my 5 x 10 single axle with brakes.

I own a rural property in Virginia where theft is unlikely but I’m currently on assignment to White Sands Missile Range in southern New Mexico. No one is stealing my trailer because I live in a “gated community” aka military base with lots of armed guards. However, for the folks who live in town theft is problem. Living 40 miles north of the border your trailer could be in Mexico being used by the Cartel in under an hour.

Ya, bigger is not always better. We don't have brakes on our 7x14 Doolittle and can't say I miss them.

Really? I think a single axle trailer is much more challenging to back up than a tandem axle.
How so?
I have backed both and find single axles to respond much quicker and precisely to turning inputs. I find tandem axles to want to sort of ‘slide’ into turns. But if that is a desired thing then, hey, its all good. I just like mine to move precisely and sharply where i point it. Maybe its just me.

Ya we'll our little T quality trailer had no tie downs, zero. So I added them. The expanded metal on the ramp wasn't welded in enough spots so it just bent down from UTV's and ATV's going on and off. So I welded it on a bunch more. The 2x2 tubes the ramps was made for the lightest square tubes I'd ever seen and one broke. So you guessed it, I replaced it with a 1/8 wall. I've got more things to mention in the high quality department but that enough for now..

Maybe they build their small trailers to a different standard. I’ve never paid attention to the smaller ones.

That’s actually good info to know because I am in the market for a smaller utility trailer.

But I do know that their bigger 14k and above trailers are rock solid.
