Re: Utility tractor?\'s

Hi,

Our MF dealer is Trinity Equipment sales located in Bradford Ontario. ( Which is approx 35 minutes north of Toronto, and I am located 15 ,imutes north of the dealer. ) They are excellent to deal with which is good for them as word travels fast. We have a BAD Case dealer in the area, so the MF sales are going strong!! There is also the brand loyalty to MF from alot of the farmers in The Holland Marsh, and now that we have a dealer here again, they will be getting rid of their old MF's and buying new ones!! I have no use for idiot dealers, no matter what colour they sell!! Its a shame.. The next good dealership is a NH one, approx an hour North of us!! So to sum it up, we have 1 idiot and too good ones!

Take care

Re: Utility tractor?\'s

Hi,

One of the reasons for the 18, 000 tractor sales was because of the bad beef market up here. Ever since the mad cow outbreak, tractor sales have gone down. With the beef prices so bad, and unstable, almost no farmer wants to take the risk at the moment, of if they do, it is no a major purchase.

Now as for the compacts, alot of dealers no atter the colour are thankful for them. Because if it wasnt for the compact sales, alot of them would be in serious trouble!!

Take care

Re: Utility tractor?\'s

According to AEM Statistics for the Canadian market the only segment to decline in sales is the 100+ HP category. The Canadian total market has been increasing over the last 5 years. The Canadian market is just a smaller market compared to the US tractor market. The US tractor market is 12 times larger than the Canadian market. Even the USA combine market is 4 times larger than the Canadian market. I'm not disparaging the Canadian market but just pointing out the USA and Canadian markets are very different for many reasons. These differences show up in dealerships as well.

Hi,

Thanks for the stats. When the mad cow first hit, the farmers that were interviewed by news stations were holding off, but hopefully thats has since changed!!

Yeah, you guys outnumber us by ten times!! ( your 300 million to our 30 million on average!!!! )

Take care

Re: Utility tractor?\'s

We dont buy them to sale so resale value is not really a worry to us. We dont have the land some of you have but when in use our tractor what just as hard and perform just as well.
And as far as resale value goes I will put my Massey up against the others any day. The local JD dealer begs for dads 135 every time my brother goes in to buy somthing for his 5420. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
