branson 4720h 6ft brush hog ,post hole digger, ripper, pallet forks,
I have a Branson 4720h with the loader on it . I have a bunch of river rock to load it痴 not packed just loose it痴 like driving on mables looking to move a bunch need ideas.

Wondering if I add bolt on teeth if it would help take some of the load off the bucket and reduce the wear on it ?

Also wondering will it just wear out the pins festerCan they be replaced or re-sleeved

Well - I'll give it a shot. As far as your bucket pins, etc - check your owners manual. If nothing is there - call your local dealer. A lot of loaders do have the ability to have the articulation points re-sleeved. New pins will be available from your local dealer.

As far as the bolt on teeth helping - they might, but it probably would only be minimal.

Honestly - if you will be "moving" so much river rock that you are worried about wear on the FEL bucket - you might want to consider renting a commercial wheeled loader. I don't know - how much is a "bunch"??

That's why you keep the pins greased, as for the bucket, just get a straight bolt on edge for it.

The right tool for the job Rock bucket, otherwise you'll move a lot of dirt which if isn't part of the plan means more time spent fixing that situation.
As stated, it depends on how many are in "a bunch".

I doubt anyone would wear bucket pins out if they grease them like they are supposed to.

If the gravel is loose, straight edge will work.

I'm a fan of my Piranah tooth bar from BXpanded. It has teeth on it for the cutting action, but can leave a smooth finish if you are backdragging. It also fits under the stock cutting edge so it supports the bucket & wears before the bucket does.

As long as the rock is loose a tooth bar isn’t needed. How much is a bunch? Wearing FELs out on tractors is a pretty non existent problem. I spread 2,000 tons of dirt in a week with my tractor.

We definitely need more information.......

You've defined the product as "loose". In that definition you need no teeth.

You're concerned about wearing out pins. Properly maintained, you are years away from that.

As others have asked, define a bunch??? Take a wild guess,,,, how many cubic yards?

River rock around here is 1/2"-3" diameter and fairly easy to scoop up. I have a straight edge and also a tooth bar but I would just leave the tooth bar off. I imagine your bucket edge has to be 1/2" thick so anything added shouldn't be necessary. Flat works fine unless your stone is really packed hard. Pins shouldn't wear out if grease as directed.

I used a 2 yard earthmover 6' wide to clean a creek 12' wide when we lived over in the other county a long time ago.
Loader pins wont wear IF greased.--IF your pin sleeves are not taped for zerks, ( some are not) then you need to drill/thread and install zerks.
Flat bucket usually works better as it keeps the bottom surface solid helpinf aid tracton.---You will find that any river rock will be rough on a small loader.
The last rock collecting I did was with MOOSE, the smaller job I did with a TD-9 crawler loader.---Extreeme power is needed to make any head way in this stuff! thanks; sonny580

I知 guessing about 100 yards. Total in no time frame just when I get time . It痴 mostly 1-4 inch river rock very lossely packed so loose it痴 like driving on marbles where the tires just spin. Trying to take the top layer of river rock off the ground.

I致e thought about trying to rent a tracked equipment but till I pay off the tractor going to use that for the most I can.

Thank you I heard a lot of people saying it痴 a loader not a backhoe for dirt . I grease the pins a lot so guess I値l just go at it .

A bolt on tooth bar will help you.
