In many ways, the BX is a glorified garden tractor, but that is what it was meant to be. It was never meant to be more than a small, next size up, garden tractor that could do all the things that a $3500 garden tractor couldn't do. It is unreasonable to expect it to do the work of a full sized tractor, and the people that try to push it to its limits do damage the machine. The hoe on the
BX22/23/24 is designed to do moderate digging and if you dig a 1000' trench, it will take you longer, but it will get it done. Same for the loader. It has its limitations, but it will get the job done, but will take a little longer to do the same job that a larger tractor will do in half the time. Try getting that larger tractor into some of the places that a BX routinely goes and you will find that it won't fit. Just like you don't use a 3/4" drive ratchet to take out the drain plug on your engine, and don't expect the BX to do the job of a
L48. The BX has its size limitations, but when you use it for what it was originally designed for, it will give you years of happy service. If you push it beyond its limitations, you might get the job done, but you will also be taking a toll on its longevity. Like any task, you have to match the machine to the job. For the price and versatility, you will not find a better product than the BX. Often imitated, but never duplicated. It is the Rolls Royce of the Sub Compact tractor field, bar none. Dusty
