I built these using 1" PVC and 2x4's in 2005. I used 3 threaded rods per 8ft section to hold together. Last year i built the gate using abs for the frame, not elegant but functional.

Looks good. Is the black frame for the gate black PVC or did you paint it?

No, the black is the abs. My thinking was no paint if possible.

Or use High tensile Horse/cattle galv wire like I did:

MotorSeven, I absolutely love what you have done here. Can you post some closeup pics of how you anchored/terminated the ends of the wire. How did you pull the wire tight? Any further insight that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I love this deign and want to try to do it myself.
