( Yes. There is a time zone in windows called Indiana East. When you select it, it automatically unchecks the daylight savings time box and greys it out. )

The next thing they need to put on Windows is a sensor that automatically changes the time. For example, if you own a laptop, and travel between South Bend into Michigan. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

There has been a lot of talk lately about changing the Indiana time zone.
I don't know if I would like it or not. Have been here 17 years this time, 13 the first time. Pretty well used to it!

Born, raised and lived in Indiana until a year and a half ago. Until then I liked not changing time, mostly to save the hassle of changing clocks twice a year (I have a lot of clocks/watches). We moved to Michigan, a scant two miles from where we lived before, and now I'm ready for Indiana to change. Having to change all the clocks twice a year would more than make up for the hassles of living in two time zones.

It affects work as well. Our facility in Indiana is a headquarters operation but all of our plants and customers are in DST areas. Scheduling meetings etc. gets confusing for everyone, not just the Indiana people around time change season. It's one thing to be an hour or so different throughout the year but with Indiana time it's inconsistenly different throughout the year.

OK, rant off /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If we go on IL time in IN you will still be diff. in MI. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Same here, as I still work for my MD job from AZ. A "regular 10:00am" meeting for them in MD is either 7:00am or 8:00am for me, depending on what time they are observing.

To further complicate it, for special reporting software I run on my PC's here, they are both set to GMT /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

True, but the difference would be the same year 'round. That would be better /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

ANYTHING would be better than the way it is now! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I actually hope Indiana DOESN'T change their time zone. I live in Ohio less than 20 miles from Richmond,In. It's nice because the stores are open late in Indiana because of being an hour behind.

I'll use that to my advantage occasionally but I'm a morning person so I'm usually waiting at the store for someone to open first thing. In that sense, it's convenient for us to live on Indiana time in the summer. The Michigan stores open an hour earlier /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, that played heck with us back in the late 70's driving all the way to Ohio to buy underage beer just to find the store closed 10 minutes ago. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
