Anyone have a clue on used pricing for a nice B2710 with 240 hours, great shape, FEL, 60"mm mower, after market 54" rotovator? Asking price is $14600.

That's probably a decent price. The local dealer here has one with 185 hours, FEL, mid mount mower w/collection system. He is asking $15,900.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention that it is a 2000 model. The local dealer is quoting around 20,000 for a new simalarly equiped model. It is just that it is sometimes hard to tell what a used piece of equipment is worth. At this price I think that this individual seller is getting close to what a dealer can get for it but it is the only used one in my area.

Thanks,

Jim

Just for your information, there were basically 2 flavors of the B2710. The major difference was the hydraulic system and the tail light mounting. The newer models had 2 hydraulic spin on filters while the older ones had only one. There are some other minor differences in how the lines are routed internally but from a user standpoint they are identical.

Older units will have a serial number of 15496 or less. The newer units will have a serial number of 50101 or greater. There is nothing in between.

There were also 2 flavors of loaders available LA401 and LA402. I am not sure of the differences.

I have an older model B2710 with the LA402 loader.

Dear MadReferee,

Thanks for the info. Since you have a B2710 the natural question is to ask how satisfied you are with it. It seems that there are many small and sometimes large differences among the Kubota 23-30 hp tractors but this model seems to have a nice balance of features. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Jim

I just paid $15,500 for a new 2710 with 402 loader, no mower. Also have to add tax which was about a grand.

Mark, that's the same price I paid in '99 for a new B2710 with the LA401 loader. It was a great little tractor, and I'd still have it if I hadn't had to move back to town.

Other than the fact that I lust after an L4330HSTC I have had very little if any problems with my B2710. It has almost 950 hours now.

Here it is with my son clearing the driveway last month.

I got them from TireChains.com . I got the 2 link ladder chains for my R4's and I had to remove one cross section. Make sure you get the heavy duty spring tensioners.

How do you like your new B2710?

I love it. I had a lot of experience using and renting TLBs for construction applications, but no experience using a tractor for homeowner type applications. Reading TBN for about a year really helped me figure out what I wanted. 90% of what I do is move wood chips and manure, so I didn't need a large lift capacity. I do drive on the lawn and pasture with it a lot so it was important to me to not damage the grass. I read everyone fills their tires but I didn't fill mine and haven't encountered a traction problem. Can always add it later. I rented an L35 when I put an addition on my house. I still have to put up an outbuilding and will rent that again to dig the foundation. A B21 is a little too small to dig foundations in my opinion. The 2710 should be fine for backfilling and grading stone for the concrete. I will probably pick up a used rear finish mower at some point to mow the pasture. I would encourage you to spend a lot of time trying a few models first to make sure it's what you want. Too much money to make a mistake.

Bird,
That's amazing. I would have expected prices to go up considerably in that time period. I think the fact that the 2710 is discontinued and I went during a snowstorm in January helped with the price. Dealer's great, been in business since dirt was invented.

Mark,

Thanks for the info. When I get the tractor I will try to post a few pictures. I plan to use it to mow, till, clear snow and do a little grading. My driveway is quite long and I could have used that bucket a few times this winter.
