Power Trac 425
I'm looking to purchase a used 425 and was wondering if 800 hours is a lot on a machine of this type. It is a 2000 model

I have a 2000 PT422 with about 500 hours on it. I think this is a moderate amount.
How well was the 425 maintained?
Oil and filter change interval.
Hydraulic filter changed every 50 hours.
Air filter changed per engine manufacturer requirements.
Spark plugs changed at least once maybe twice.
Moving parts lubed every 8 hours of use.
Does it run and start well and sound good?
Does it smoke when started?
I hope this helps, probably more than you want to know.

i'm not sure of the answer of most of your questions. I was told that one of the wheel motors were replaced and that the machine was serviced on a regular basis.

Ask my questions when you are there. Try to get a little more specific answers. Look at the engine oil on the dip stick. It should look clean. If it is really bad don't buy it.

Look at the hydraulic oil and it should be clean with no water in it. I think the water would look white.

How it runs, starts (both cold and hot), and how it sounds (no knocking or ticking while running) are good indicators. Drive it around and use it.

One wheel motor replaced is not bad.
How much is he asking for it? You might call Power Trac and speak to them about it's value.

425, 4in1 bucket, large bucket, 5' mower, box blade, post hole digger and 2 augers; $7,500

Even if the engine croaks you could probably get a new one for less than $2000.00. That is still cheaper than a new one alone with no implements.

Check all the joints for grease and tightness as well. Check the hoses for wear.

Thats not a bad price if all looks good. I assume this is a one owner machine.
You should have no trouble putting on another 1500 hours.
This is one great machine that you will love for years to come.
Let us know how you make out.
