what makes a good used oil sprayer for spraying frames etc?

You mean.. as in.. spraying hazardous wast as a preservative? Better to use an asphalt based paint as a metal preservative. Only have to apply it once.. and it isn't toxic to the environment like wast oil is.

if you had any idea what point sources of polution do to the environment you might think twice about adding it to the environment. A tablespoon of oil can ruin 2000gallons of potable water.

Hit the EPA website for more good info on waste oil.

ok sorry to have frashed it that way..

maybe not using used oil but rather new oil or something else that is not so environmentally harmfull

What I am looking for is a sprayer that can stick inside frame channels and help to reduce the rust.

well environmental issues aside for a moment, the way that i liked was spraying on chainsaw bar oil with a suction gun like you use with buckets of degreaser. i put the oil in a can and put the can on a hotplate to warm it and make it thin enough to spray, but then it thickens up and stays in place, bar and chain oil works best cause its made to be sticky and stay in place, so less environmental issues i suppose. i know its not the best thing, but its about the only way to make a box tube frame like foreign trucks use last the life of the vehicle up here in the north where salt is so heavily used

Phrasing had nothing to do with the issue. And while pouring 'new' oil on the ground has slightly less environmental impact.. it's still like stabbing a person.. just using a slightly smaller knife.

Hit the epa site and look up prosecutions for intentional contaminators. There is a particularly nice one about a contractor that was using diesel as plant and fence line control on state owned land.... huge staggering fine and some jail time for the owner and 'trigger' men.

Like I said.. try a paint.. like an asphalt based paint.. way more environmentally inert once cured... stays put longer than oil too.. seals better..

Yes.. I'm touchy about this subject.. no.. I'm not a tree hugger... it's just all those years of courses for CE.. all the ecology and environmental science, and water systems design.. really lets you look at what gets dumped into the groundwater.. or ocean.. etc... and it ain't good... for it to get better.. it will take everyone's cooperation.... I simply wouldn't mind eating a fish every now and then and not worry about a mercury warning.. or drink some well water and not wait for the county test well samples to come back and see just how bad the local ground water is... and who's fuel station or old paint production plant or whatever is leaking benzene into the groundwater..... etc..
