used Lumber Prices ...

A friend of mine called a couple days ago asking if I could use some lumber and tin ... him and his boys tore down the old stockyard

Got 100 2x6's various lengths ... 12' 14' and 16' and 25 2x8x20' flat price per piece $3.00

40 - corragated (old style) 12' roofing metal $5.00 per sheet ...

I thought that was pretty fairly priced. He delivered them yesterday and ya know they where pretty darn good pieces.

So ... today we added 16' to the hog barn.

I know a guy that reclaims lumber from old sheds and old barns. He sells the pieces for more than new sometimes. I guess there's a big yuppy save-the-world movement that values the reclaimed stuff higher than the new stuff.

I'd say you got a good deal.

My friend does alot of remodels and I take it all bad and good. seperate and denail . burnt he rest.
I have several buildings built with used lumber..

I thought "used lumber" meant "free lumber". I have a pole barn somebody built almost entirely out of old 2x8 concrete forms. Still chuncks of concrete stuck to most of the rafters...

Well I guess at $3 clean up and ready to use in nearly free !!
