Kubota L4330 HSTC
Found a used L4330HSTC. It is a 2006 model with 1,300 hours on it. The used Kubota with cab is less, but not too much less, than a new Mahindra 2538/2638.

It makes me a little worried to consider a 12 year old machine that has no warranty but I am open to considering it. Any recommendations/opinions?

My L3130 GST just turned over 1000 hours and no problems, check service history on the HST transmission SUDT and filters. No major problems on the GLxx30 series the GLxx40 series have had problems with front driveshaft seals leaking.

Never had any warranty issues had to do a slight modification for the hydraulic pump drive when being used with a backhoe but that was it.

Be prepared for some wrenching, you might need to change some hydraulic lines, swap out a leaky cylinder. But if it's not critical for you to have it working to put food on the table and a roof over your it sounds good. Especially if the tires are good.

For example, I'm retired, my M4700 started a leak in a FEL line. So I parked it and got a new one, took me a couple of days to do it. Could probably have driven in to town and fixed it in one day. But if I was on a job charging $75/hr that would have been a loss.

Ask owner if you could take test spin also someone w/knowledge about tractors to join you.
Look for leaks listen for odd noise strange feeling when operating.

I would give that Kubota a long hard look before I purchased a Mahindra.Low hours for the year ,should be a good tractor if not abused.

Thanks guys. Sounds like the consensus is that a 12 year old tractor isn't a big concern. I will be looking at it.

1300 hours is nothing, and it has a CAB ($7000 option). I have an L4200GST that I bought 10 years ago with 2000 hours. I've done a ton of hard work with it, and it now has 2800 hours or so. With the exception of a starter that I had to replace at some point, it has been trouble free.

Looks nice. Plus, it has the quick attach loader option, which was an extra $300 or more when I ordered mine.

Here's what my manuals look like:

Now that I own a tractor I need to find implements. Thinking of a 60" EA Wicked Grapple but need a rotary cutter first. Any recommendations for this size tractor? Brand, size, HD or standard duty?

Approx. 10-11 acres to cut. Plan is to cut it often enough that it doesn't get over 8-12" tall.

I run a LandPride RCF 2072 (6ft.er) behind my L4240 HSTC,slip clutch model. It would be a good fit for your tractor also.Big jump in price if you go bigger;7ft.BH's are heavy and rare,8ft.twin spindles are nice but pricy.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will look online at the RCF 2072 now. I think 7' would be nice to speed things up but then I have to consider storage and hauling. For that reason, and the price, 6' will be the size.

Slip clutch is different than a model with a shear pin, right?

Yikes, even the 6' is expensive. Hope I can find a good used one.
