I'm looking at a 2000 L3710 GST w/LA681 loader and removable teeth, 80" box blade, folding ROPS, Ag tires, ballast filled rears, with 105 hrs in really good shape. Seller wants $19,000 for it in Colorado. Is this in the ballpark for a used Kubota??? Any input is appreciated.

I think that is high with the low intrest rates Kubota is offering. In MD I got the 3710 HST w/R4's, LA682 loader, 72 inch Landpride box blade, rear tilting blade, rear finish mower and a 72 inch woods rotory cutter for about 24K. I would look at a total cost including financing unless your going to pay cash. Carver Equipment has some good deals and will set up shipping.

The tractor is from an individual and not dealer, so financing is not an option. Unfortunately, the lone dealer around here is not know for his price haggling generousity. That setup you described in your post would cost another 2-3K up here......no kidding!!

I would send Caver Equipment an email. They can give you a quote that includes delivery. I remember reading stories similar to yours from people in Texas. They Purchased from Carver and saved including the shipping from NC.

Thanks for the advice.......I have been pondering whether I want to invest in new or used. I think I will start looking out of state as well, since the dealer here is IMHO a rip-off artist. He has a very, and I stress the word VERY healthy Federal Government contract here, so I figured he would be extremely competitive on prices to individuals.........boy, was I wrong. As a sidenote, I am perplexed about how people spend their money in Colorado.......they will spend $24-25K on a L3710 with not too many goodies and not look elsewhere??? Although, Colorado is the only state where someone will spend $40K on a 4 door turbo diesel dually, and not have anything to haul or pull??? Maybe it's the thin air up here??? Oh well, it takes all kinds to make the world go round. Also, I am not overly concerned about maintanence or minute repair issues, as I am a self proclaimed "shadetree fender lizard," so going out of state is not really that big of a deal for me. Once again, thanks for the advice, and I will see what presents itself.

Glad to hear that someone else is looking for tractors in this state. I am outside of Woodland Park. I have loooked at dealers all along the front range (Universal in Denver, Longmont Farm Supply, and Steele Tractor in the Springs). None can even come close to Carver. You are looking for a larger model than I am so the market might be different. I am looking at a 2410 because of all the trees up here. Of all the dealers, Longmont was the best to deal with. None of the others even offered to let me test out any equipment. Good Luck!!

You are ever so correct.....I feel your pain. If only the tractor dealers in Colorado had the same customer friendly attitude that the dealers apparently have on the east coast and southern seaboard!?!?!? I have not had dealings with the operation in Longmont, but I will just come out and say that I think Steel Tractor stinks!!!! The guy I dealt with gave me a whole bunch of bullsh** when I said how much other dealer's out of state where getting for BETTER equipped units. Basically, he told me it was the first price he offered or nothing!!! Unbelievable. I realize that different dealers have different overheads and operating costs, and that they are in the business to make money, but they are not however in the business to see how much of my hard earned money they can seperate from my wallet for nothing other than just for s*its and giggles. Sounds like pretty piss poor business practice to me.......but he sells a lot of tractors??? I will not ever set foot in there again, and guess what......I've got a chunk of money to spend........his loss I guess!! Thanks for all the replies.

I would recommend that you look into a new L3710. I have been shopping for a larger tractor lately. I liked the L4310 but finding out there is a savings of $2400 for a loss of only 6hp on the same chassis makes the L3710 the likely winner.

Incidently, my dealer quote for a L3710GST R4 682FEL is cheaper than the used tractor you referred to. The rebates and low interest rates are a two edged sword. Good for new buyers, bad for trade-ins and used tractors.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Although I didn't spend $40K (near to it). And I have never been to Colorado.

It is what I call a family-mobile! Room for the little ones, utility for the farm, long lasting, cheaper fuel, and no soccer Mom label! Can haul too...

Ah, but see MrP, you have specific uses for yours.....I have seen people in Denver that have that same truck as a commuter vehicle!! I too have an extremely large diesel, but it holds 2 adults, 2 little boys, 2 big dogs, and pulls either 2 big horses or flatbeds full of hay. I, like you, consider my large vehicle quite utilitarian.....I just get a chuckle out of the folks around here that have them just to have them. But, then again, it's their money and I should probably keep my cake-hole closed!! It's all in good fun anyway!!
