What spacer sleeves are for. TSC sells them every day. If you have common sense you won't be 'tearing up' anything. If you are an idiot, you will be.

Tractors, especially pre emissions ones are selling for stupid high prices today and getting worse as time passes because

4wd, L4400s with open station and loaders are selling for $14,000 to $20,000 with more hours one them than mine. The ones I see on line are prettier than mine but I only paid $19,000 for mine brand new. If I don't keep it I sure want it to stay in the family.

Probably not but if a dealer is offering $32k he's still planning on making some money off it. Has nothing to do with humble. Its a tractor. And quite frankly, I would pay top dollar for a sweet pre-emission machine than a new one today.

Even as I contemplate all this I know that I do not really "need" this tractor. I'm kind of hoping it looks worse in person than it does in the pictures or that he won't budge on the price or that it is clearly too big when I drive it.

But, one of the things that drives my desire for it is the lack of complex emissions and computer stuff. My in-law down the road has a huge tractor shop for his farm tractors and together we could fix a lot of basic problems that happen to tractors and simple diesels. With the future prospects of this country for people like me (us maybe?) a machine like this might be a jewel in 5-10 years.

The other thing I have to think seriously about is that all of my implements are Cat 1. I can change the pins on the mower, disk, spreader, two bottom plow and rake. The box blade and my chipper have Cat 1 sized holes and would need to be drilled out or some sort of adapter pin used. Not sure how all that would work. Also would be concerned about tearing up Cat 1 ground engaging stuff with the heavier more powerful tractor.

When you go to a much larger tractor your going to have a cat problems regardless.

Would the relative be interested in a swap with added cash?

No, it is the DT model, which I think is mechanical shuttle shift, which is what I prefer.

DT is Kubota speak for "Dual Traction" or front wheel assist.

H in the model should denote hydraulic shuttle, and it should have "Hydraulic shuttle" decal on hood.
