Price Check Used Gannon RD 45L 80 inch scrapper box

Hello

I have a nice used Gannon box scrapper with the complete set up to hook up to my Massey Ferguson 300 Tractor. It has 8 rippers with caps on the teeth and a ram to lift and lower the rippers. I had the hoses for the lift and side tilt too. I just don't use it because I have a backhoe on the tractor and don't like changing. Any ideas as to what this Gannon with tilt arms, hoses, valves is worth ? I want to sell it......

Why not compare with the new ones and price according to condition? You will need to discount it to make it move I suspect. If it is in good shape you might consider a paint job to help move it faster.

Boxes like that are really too big for most hobby farmers, but it's a real good box. Call a dealer and see what the new price is and put the $ somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 then see what it does. A dealer will probably offer you 1/2 of what they can sell it for or less. Probably 15-25% of the new price.

FWIW, I bought a similar boxblade, 84" hyd scarifiers made by Gannon that Deere lists now for about $4000. Funny thing is I bought this with my 110tlb in 2005, it was 2009 before I removed the hoe and used the boxblade. So before you take a beating selling it you might want to reconsider selling. It would be expensive to replace at a later date.

Sjrudy - These heavy duty box scrappers are sought after. Price conservatively on the high side. I think when I bought mine 4 yrs ago it was ~ $3-4k with shipping. The TnT practioners on this site have demonstrated these box scappers to be valuable in road making and maintenance.......Gary
