Kioti CK30
I am going to look at a CK30 tomorrow. It's a year old with a Kioti fel and bh and about 350 hours on the meter. The owner said he has worked it hard but is impresssed with it. He said he is selling it to get a DK45. I asked him about the cracking around the fel inspection plate. He said a plate has already been welded around it. Now that Kioti is coming out with a factory fix do you think they would apply it to a second hand tractor? The current owner said the warranty is transferable. He said there is still a couple of years left on the warranty. He also said he has bent the cross member on the bh subframe but he had it straightened and a solid brace put inside the subframe member which is hollow. I would be much happier with a Groundbreaker but used equipment buyers can't be too choosy. The plan was if I didn't find a decent used machine that I would wait until the Fall and buy a new one with a Woods fel and bh. Asking price is $13,500. Whatcha think? I've been Jonesing for a tractor since I sold the Case 580C to pay for the drywall in the house I built.

Hello Brad, if you saying you can get a 06 Ck30 with a backhoe for 13500. Id be all over that.. I do like my Ck30hst with a Woods 1012 loader and Woods 80x backhoe but i also payed around 22k. That price is a steal and wont last long i assure you.. Go test drive it for sure.. Good luck Matt

Yea Brad, I would jump on that. My CK30 has 400 hours and is running great.

I don't think I would even mess around negotiating for a lower price, give him a check for the 13,500 and grab it.

I would ask WHO did the welding around the inspection plate and I would ask WHY they did the welding!!! I'm also curious if the inspection plate was welded onto the loader torque tube? If the cover plate was welded on, then what happens if there is a leak that needs to be checked out?

From everything that I've been reading, there is no authorized fix to the cracking problem that includes welding aroudn the inspection hole. So while the loader warranty is only 1 year, it is likely that if the welding was not authorized then the welding (if not authorized by Kioti corporate) would have probably accomplished 2 things. First, it probably would have voided the warrenty. Second, it probably takes Kioti off the hook for suppling the repair part.

Twigpig, I would grab it at that price. I have the same configuration and it is a great combo. I bought everything brand new at 10g’s more. I have the cracks in my loader and I am opting to forsake the Kioti fix (as being mediocre) and I am going to fabricate a simple plate larger than the existing access panel and weld it to the tube. The plate will have an access hole to get to the lines when necessary. Frankly the cracks are not that big of a deal. When you look the torque tube and how it contributes to the stabilization and operation of the loader it is not what I would consider as critical as the loader arms themselves but certainly necessary and should be in sound condition. I do not see this component receiving any really tremendous forces. The cracks are more a function of the placing of the holes too close to the edge of the inspection hole on a flexible structural member. So buttressing the existing access hole should address the problems of those cracks. If not it will be back to the drawing board for me!

Even if the tractor came without a loader at that price it would be a good deal. Good Luck and I hope we will be welcoming you to the pack soon!

I bought the tlb the day after I posted the first message of this thread. I based that decission on what I read on the owning/using board about a month ago about the fix for the loader that was ready and was being delivered to the dealers. I hadn't read the latest disapointing thread before I made the deal. The torque tube on this loader had some substantial cracks. I can see why the previous owner could not wait for Kioti to come out with a sanctioned repair and just had a plate with an inspection hole welded around the current inspection hole. After I bought the tractor I saw the pictures on Island Tractor's thread of the factory fix. It looks like something from Frankenstein!!!!! Very dissapointing. If I had bought the tractor new I would be hopping mad. As it is, it gave me an oportunity to get a whole lot of almost new tractor for about half the price. The tractor is great. It's just the attachments that are problematic. I can't wait until the previous owner brings it to my place. I have to go out of town for work so there wasn't time to bring it home before I get back from my trip. I was also a little disapointed in the amount of play in the backhoe. Are there bushings that can be replaced like in Bradco/Kubota backhoes? It looked like it was well greased and the owner said he greased it often. My bs meter was very sensitive and did not register any bs about the maintenance. The owner was very honest and straightforward. I forgot to mention in my first post. It's an hst :). It's going to be a long week.
