Price Check Used BX25

OK, I'm stumped and in need of help. From what I've read here, if I'm willing to pay cash a new BX25 can be had for $16,500 (I'm in New England).

Tonight I looked at a used BX25 (350 hours, 2009-no warranty) that was very clean and well maintained. Options include a thumb on the backhoe, a skid plate for the transmission fan, and filled rear tires. The price is $15,000.

I'm loath to buy new and pay the sales tax, but it hardly seems worth the difference given the price of the used tractor.

Any guidance is appreciated.

They're around $19K new? And that's without the thumb which is $400 and filled tires are $150.

I'd never pay that for a used one. That's more than a new one considering the value of the low to no interest financing. I'd buy out of state, like Ky, and take my chances on the sales tax not coming due.
I have a BX25 and it's my favorite tractor for my current needs considering the other Kubotas I have for their purposes.

$16500 TO $17500 SHOULD BE A DECENT PRICE FOR A NEW BX25.

My neighbor bought a new bx25 for 15k and some change out the door in fall of 2009. Loader, midmount mower with hoe. He also got the Lu Ora financing becUse I remember they required him to have insurance.

If he did and it included a MMM he got an incredible and almost unbelievable price. Believe his dealer probably lost money on that deal. Course if "change" was $2500 then maybe.

Sounds too good! If he did get that kind of deal he could run it for a year resell and make money. I paid $18000 delivered with a mmm and thought i got a deal!!

I agree. Your deal seems believable and it was a good or real good deal. Someone made a major mistake at $15000 or someone told someone an untruth or someone is like me and the memory is confused about the real figure.

We paid around 19k WITH the 60" MMM...

15500 even in New England seems high. I got my BX24 for 16000 a few years ago and last trip to the dealer they were still right arounf 16500-17000. Sure you save the sales tax but you take the gamble on the machine's condition and any unknown factors.

Although it was some time ago now, I paid$3,000 - $4000 ($13,500) less than MSRP for my BX22. It was a year old, and had 85 hours on the clock. I did buy that from a dealer. I sold it for $12,000 about three years later. (Well, I got more than that for it, but I had added a middlebuster, and a thumb for the backhoe, etc. so I'm not counting those things in the depreciation.......... and obviously I am no bookkeeper)

I payed $18,300 for a BX25 with mmm, rear tires loaded with rim guard and a rear skid plate installed, all delivered to my door in central Ma in December of 2010. Best puchase I ever made.

I am very happy with the deal I got on my new BX23 when it was new... $14,950 with no extras... not including tax.
