Kubota BX1850 and Kubota BX2680
Hi fellow machine lovers,

I've been offered a Kubota BX1850 by a neighbor who has to move quickly. It seems in teriffic shape, I've seen him use it and he treats it gently; it's stored indors; it looks like it drove off the showroom floor.

It comes with a LA203 FEL; a RCK54P23BX Fine Cut mower; a GCK60-23BX 3 bag grass catcher and a BX2750C front mount snow blower with the chute adjusting motor.

Can any of you guys tell me if $8,000.00 is a good price for this (as I suspect it is)?

Thanks in advance,
Larry

Thanks for doing that. I also did that and got a similar number. I figure that's a list price though and I don't know what the street price would be here in Mass.

Plus maybe these things depreciate like a rock, I just don't know.

kubotas do not depreciate like a rock. New prices continue to go up so the purchase price of a machine bought 2 or 3 years ago is lower than a new tractor. That looks cheap and knowing the history of the machine is worth alot. Hours make some difference. If you want a BX1850 with those attachments that's a good price. Wait a few days and let someone else get it then you will always have a story of how you let one get away and had to pay $3000 more for a lesser machine. Post the neighbors name and phone number here and see.what happens.

Johnthomas, your right on! I'd snap that tractor up in a heart beat, and before 15pbc knows it it will be gone forever.

Quite obviously that does not include FEL, Mowing deck, grass catcher and snow blower. When you add those the sum goes up considerably. So, since he don't know and he said it up front, don't try to confuse him. He's doing the right thing. Asking people that do know to help him. Compare apples to apples.

For the tractor and package Larry describes (great condition and plenty of options), that price verges on being a steal!

I got a "web quote" (list price I imagine) for the base machine of $8,257.00. Since LBrown59 can buy it for $7,735.00 I suppose the street price for the machine I've been offered (it's "web quote" is $19,492.00) new today is around $18,200.00.

Of course that's for wherever LBrown59 lives near Canton, OH. I doubt if the discounts are better here in New England.

So any way I look at it that's a teriffic deal; as soon as my soon-to-be-ex neighbor is home again I believe I'll go give him a deposit.

And gee LBrown59, if I knew all about these machines I wouldn't have to ask...

What I'm trying to say is figuring my dealers 1850 and your neighbors 1850 at $7735 means you are picking up 4 very expensive implements for only $265 in the $8000 price your neighbor gave you.
You're stealing that tractor and attachments so jump on the deal before somebody else beats you to it and you find yourself kicking your back side for dragging your feet .

With all the attachments he offering to go with it at 8 k ?!!! What are you waiting for ? If you dont take it , I will ;):D. The 1850 is a very nice machine. The mower and FEL alone makes the 8k worth every penny. Having a snowblower is a really nice addition and I bet once you use it, you will never sell the blower for a plow. :) The way the kubota runs is really nice and make you feel like a king mowing ,clearing snow etc.

I'll just add that if that deal was listed on craig's list or e-bay, I'd be reporting it as a possible scam. Now, where does your neighbor live? :D

...if $8,000.00 is a good price for this (as I suspect it is)?
$13,000 is a decent price.

$11,000 is a GREAT price.

$10,000 is a firesale.

$8,000 is just good ol' fashioned armed robbery. The six-shooter kind...none of this automatic weapon stuff...

I paid $15,000 for about the same setup (less the snowblower) in the higher HP version of the previous generation tractor...fairly equivalent to today's 2350/2360, which I believe commands a $2,000 premium today. Take the $2,000 off for the 18 vs. 23 HP, then add it back for the barely used snowblower. Honestly, value retention is pretty exceptional with these things. I'd think a small premium on your knowing the history.

If he takes $8k, that rocks. I'd offer him up to $10k or $10.5k before I'd tell him to try and sell it on the open market. In today's climate, I bet he comes back to you in 2 weeks and accepts $10k.

The BXs are great .
If they weren't I would not own these 3.
I think it is super awesome that you have three of them. But I will always find a bit of humor in having 3 of the same thing.

BMW's hold their value really well, too. That's why I have a 2002 325i, a 2003 325i, and a 2004 330i.

Not.

Sorry...we agreed not to go over this any more. My bad.
