Forks Used Bradco 48" Pallet Forks - how much?

I saw a pair of used Bradco 48" pallet forks for sale that will fit my skid skeer quick attach. I may want to make an offer. Anyone have an opinion as to what they are worth? A local dealer is selling new 48" forks w/ 4,000 lbs capacity and skid steer attach for $559.

There aren't exactly any moving parts to wear out with pallet forks. If they are in good shape I'd guess 20-25% discount from new. That may not seem like much of a price drop but then there is no real benefit to buying new so I imagine the price of a decent used set would be high. I just sold an almost new set that sound about the same for $550 (and I delivered).

That photo link did not work for me. However, here is a photo of the forks I just sold for $550. They were very good forks I just found I did not have as much use for them as I thought and they were oversized for my CUT. They were real skid steer forks.

Those look pretty much identical to the ones I sold. Condition looks pretty good to. It would be nice to know what size loader they were used on but you should be able to tell if there is anything bent.

I have a set of Bradco forks (as in your photo) for my L5030HSTC. They are one of the most versatile attachments that I have, and they are very strong.

I have used the base plate as a base for a boom to lift trusses, and have used them (as intended) to move 3000+ pallets of sod; they never broke a sweat.

I bought them new for around 575-600 (don't remember exactly). The only mod I needed to do on them was to burn out about 1 inch on the QA receiver (going from side-to-side). The factory dimension was so close that it made "drive up, hook up" a multiple attempt ordeal. No it is a 5 second hook-up.

Good quality product.

The forks I saw are on ebay. Latest bid is $531. Doesn't make sense since I can get new ones for $559.

A lot of eBay bidding makes no sense. When I bid on something, unless it's a collector's item, I'll make a note of the best delivered price I can find for a new, equivalent item and back into a discounted max bid from that. More times than I care to count, used items go for bids above the new delivered price.

Seems like people get caught up in the concept and competition of "winning" an auction and lose sight of what they are really doing - buying a commodity. If your pockets are deep enough, you can "win" any auction.

I agree that is the key to rational ebay bidding. Also consider the value of a real dealer you can talk to for problems, supplies etc. I have found that in my area (Boston) the dealers don't tend to discount implements much at all so the discounts available via ebay are inticing.

Having said that, my experience buying tractor implements from Millonzi via ebay was great. Got a grapple for under $600 that has served me incredibly well.
