Rake Use Rake Backwards

Used my neighbor's 6' rake today to freshen up the drive-way. Approx 80 ft of two car width. John suggest that I run the rake with the curve backwards. Hey, it's his rake, what I am gonna say?

Long story short, it worked excellent. Call me dumb and inexperienced with these rakes, but I am not sure I would have thought of that. Never too old to learn a new thing, I guess.

Makes it much less agressive that way.

Run a landscape rake w/ gauge wheels over rough graded loam in the reverse position and you will be amazed at the finsh. Thats rake in reverse position, pushed by the machine,also in reverse.

I tried to use my rake backwards, but would jump all over.. Are the tines just to flexible on mine? What's the trick?
