use for used hydraulic fluid?

yes i have done posts with it, and also used deep fry oil also.

Many old ranchers used to use it too spray on their roads, and many kept a drum of oil that they saturated kept replacement posts soaking in. Another popular thing was to use it to kill weeds along the fencelines.

Then again, many just had a "spot" somewhere on the ground that they poured all the old used oil on.

Generally, those are not well recieved practices today.

If you have much volume at all, with the high prices of oil at present the guys doing alternative fuels are looking hard for clean feedstock, it probably has some value.

You could also look at some of the various used oil burners, "black gold" springs to my mind but there are several, as well as some featured in Mother earth news etc.

Most recycling, and your uses etc. will be dependent upon volume that you are producing and that will open or close different doors for you.

We probably move about 6000 gallons every two or three weeks, gives us some options. If you are doing 55 gallons a month though, it starts to constrain you.

If it were I, I would not consider much that ended with the oil hitting the ground. Even if you choose to argue that it is not that bad, many of your neighbors will probably not share the same view, even if they do share the same water supply.

I pour 5 gallons of diesel in my Belarus and chase it with 5 gallons of used hyd oil.

I mix it with pine wood chips in a trash can makes excelent floor sweep. Floor shines and no dust while sweeping.

I like that idea Temper, I'm allergic to dust and cats. Not much I can do about the cats.LOL but this idea sounds good to me.Thanks
Brad are you saying you use the used oil to burn with your diesel??
My cousin used to dump his in the huge tanks at the school he worked at they used Number 6 oil .The school never had a problem so I hear.

Yep, starts & runs fine.
